International Yoga Day Celebration at PIIT Greater Noida

International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June in the premises of PIIT campus. This year the theme being Yoga For Humanity, speech competition and poster making competition were organized to celebrate this day.

Objectives

The objectives of the activity are as following-

  • To develop the habit of meditation among youngsters.

  • To educate people about various means of overcoming stress naturally.

  • To make the practice of Yoga popular among people.


International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June in the premises of PIIT campus. This year the theme being Yoga for Humanity, speech competition and poster making competition were organized to celebrate this day. The chief guest for this day was famous Yoga instructor V.P Singh. The programme started with lightening of lamp by Chairman Sir. After lamp lightening students presented Saraswati Vandana. Chairman Sir delivered an inspiring speech focusing on the benefits of Yoga. Then Mr V.P Guptaput emphasis on the inclusion of Yoga in our daily life. He taught Y ogasanas such as Pranayam, Tadasana, Trilokasana and Vajrasana. After Yoga session Director Sir addressed all and inspired all to practice yoga with his golden words. He presented the chief guest with Momento Of Respect. Students participated enthusiastically in Speech and Poster Making Competiton. Each participant was excellent in portraying the benfits, curability and qualities of Yogasana through their speech and posters.They were judged on different criterias. The dicision to choose the winner was very difficult because each participant was good in its own way. All were provided with refreshments like Banana, Shikanji and Milk Sharbat. Then the winners were announced. The Programme ended with National Anthem.


Outcomes

The following are the outcomes of the activity-

  • The students participated in the programme enthusiastically.

  • They learnt different Yogasanas.

  • The became familiar with the benefits of Yogasanas in their lives.

  • They got to know what changes Yoga can bring in their lives
