This programme had the following objectives:
To make the students aware about self defence.
To educate them about the safety of women.
To encourage them to make the society safe for the human being.
A Self Defence Programme was organized in PIIT college premises. This programme was organized with the collaboration of Human Rights Mission , Gautam Buddha Nagarand PIIT. The students gathered in the hall for the demonstration of the activity.Ms Saba addressed the studentsand introduced the students about the programme and its advantages.She also introduces Mr Piyush Shahu ( Karate Coach ).Mr. Piyush Shahu told the students aboutself defence . He showed them some techniques to defend themselves. He also laid emphasis on the safety of females. He told them that the safety of a woman is priority of the country. At a time when cases of gender violence are on the rise, self-defence for girl children becomes a necessity. Instances of harassment are more in rural areas and many go unreported which lead to other heinous crimes against girl children. It is imperative to teach children how to defend themselves and how to escape situations which threatens their safety. He picked some of the students and made them demonstrate some of the techniques . Special attention was paid on the defence of females . The programme was very enriching and educating.
This programme had the following outcomes:
The students became aware about self defence.
They got to know about different techniques to save themselves.
They learnt to make female safety the priority of the society.
