Student Code of Conduct at PIIT
Prince Institute of Innovative Technology (PIIT), Greater Noida expects every student to maintain discipline, respect, honesty and responsible behaviour inside and outside the campus.
This Student Code of Conduct explains the basic rules, values and responsibilities that students should follow during their academic journey at PIIT.
Purpose of the Code of Conduct
The purpose of this code is to create a disciplined, safe, respectful and student-friendly academic environment.
PIIT believes that good conduct is an important part of education. Students are expected to grow not only in knowledge and skills but also in character, responsibility and professional behaviour.
Scope of This Code
This Student Code of Conduct applies to all students of PIIT during:
Classes and academic sessions
Practical and laboratory work
Workshops, seminars and conferences
Examinations and assessments
Campus activities and events
Sports and cultural programs
Industrial visits and field activities
Online classes or digital communication
Use of institute facilities
Interaction with faculty, staff, students and visitors
Students are expected to represent PIIT with dignity wherever they participate in institute-related activities.
General Discipline
Students must follow institute rules, academic instructions and directions given by authorized faculty members, staff and officials.
Students are expected to:
Attend classes regularly
Reach classes and activities on time
Maintain discipline in classrooms and campus areas
Follow academic schedules and notices
Respect institutional property
Use facilities responsibly
Avoid behaviour that disturbs learning or campus peace
Respectful Behaviour
Every student must treat classmates, juniors, seniors, faculty, staff, visitors and guests with respect.
PIIT does not support abusive language, rude behaviour, harassment, humiliation, bullying, ragging, discrimination or any act that affects the dignity of another person.
Healthy communication and mutual respect are expected in all interactions.
Academic Responsibility
Students are responsible for taking their studies seriously and completing academic work on time.
Academic responsibility includes:
Attending lectures and practicals
Completing assignments and projects
Participating in academic activities
Preparing for examinations
Maintaining notebooks and records, where required
Following faculty instructions
Asking for academic guidance when needed
Students should not disturb classes or create an environment that affects the learning of others.
Attendance and Punctuality
Regular attendance is an important part of academic discipline. Students should follow attendance requirements as per institute, university, board or council rules.
Students should be punctual for:
Theory classes
Practical sessions
Internal assessments
Examinations
Workshops and seminars
Training sessions
Institutional events
Absence from classes or activities should be informed as per institute procedure, wherever required.
Academic Honesty
PIIT expects students to maintain honesty in academic work.
Students should not:
Copy assignments
Use unfair means in examinations
Submit someone else’s work as their own
Misuse study material
Forge signatures or documents
Submit fake records or certificates
Cheat during tests, practicals or assessments
Use unauthorized material in examinations
Academic integrity is necessary for real learning and professional growth.
Examination Conduct
During examinations, internal tests or assessments, students must follow all rules and instructions.
Students should:
Carry required admit card or ID, where applicable
Reach the examination venue on time
Follow seating arrangements
Avoid unfair means
Maintain silence and discipline
Follow invigilator instructions
Avoid bringing prohibited items
Submit answer sheets or materials properly
Any misconduct during examination may lead to disciplinary action as per applicable rules.
Use of Mobile Phones and Digital Devices
Students should use mobile phones and digital devices responsibly.
Mobile phones may not be allowed during classes, practicals, examinations or official activities unless permitted by faculty or authorized officials.
Students should not use phones or devices for:
Recording without permission
Disturbing classes
Sharing inappropriate content
Cheating in examinations
Cyberbullying or harassment
Misusing student or faculty photographs
Spreading rumours or misleading information
Online Behaviour and Social Media Conduct
Students must behave responsibly on digital platforms connected with PIIT.
This includes WhatsApp groups, social media pages, online classes, email communication and other digital channels.
Students should not:
Post offensive or abusive content
Misuse PIIT’s name, logo or photographs
Share fake notices or misleading information
Harass students, faculty or staff online
Create unauthorized groups in PIIT’s name
Upload private or sensitive content without permission
Damage the reputation of the institute or any individual
Anti-Ragging Commitment
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited at PIIT. Students must not participate in, support, encourage or remain silent about ragging.
Senior students should guide juniors positively and help create a friendly campus environment.
Any ragging-related concern should be reported immediately through official channels.
Dress Code and Personal Presentation
Students are expected to maintain neat, decent and respectful personal presentation while attending classes, practicals, institutional events or official activities.
If a uniform, lab coat, ID card or specific dress code is required for any program, practical, event or examination, students must follow it properly.
Identity Card
Students may be required to carry their institute identity card while on campus or during official activities.
The identity card should be shown when asked by authorized faculty, staff or security personnel.
Misuse, sharing or duplication of identity card is not allowed.
Use of Campus Facilities
Students should use classrooms, laboratories, library, computer labs, workshops, sports areas, common spaces, transport and other facilities responsibly.
Students should not damage, misuse or remove institute property.
Any damage caused intentionally or due to irresponsible behaviour may lead to disciplinary action and recovery of cost, where applicable.
Laboratory and Workshop Conduct
Students using laboratories, workshops or technical facilities must follow safety instructions and faculty guidance.
Students should:
Use equipment carefully
Follow safety rules
Wear required safety gear, where applicable
Avoid unauthorized experiments
Report damage or malfunction
Keep the area clean
Handle tools and machines responsibly
Safety and discipline are especially important in practical learning spaces.
Library Conduct
Students should maintain silence, discipline and respect for others while using the library.
Library books, journals, study materials and resources should be used carefully and returned on time.
Writing, tearing, damaging or misplacing library material is not acceptable.
Interaction with Faculty and Staff
Students should communicate respectfully with faculty members, administrative staff, support staff and other institutional representatives.
Queries, concerns or requests should be raised through proper channels.
Students should avoid rude behaviour, pressure tactics, false allegations or disrespectful communication.
Participation in Events and Activities
Students are encouraged to participate in academic events, cultural activities, technical competitions, sports, workshops, seminars, social initiatives and institutional programs.
While participating, students should follow event rules, respect organizers, maintain discipline and represent PIIT positively.
Prohibited Conduct
The following behaviour is not acceptable at PIIT:
Ragging or bullying
Physical fights or threats
Harassment or intimidation
Use of abusive language
Discrimination or disrespect
Damage to institute property
Possession or use of prohibited substances
Misuse of mobile phones or social media
Cheating or academic dishonesty
Forgery of documents
Unauthorized collection of money
Fake notices or misinformation
Any act that affects safety, discipline or institutional dignity
Substance Use and Prohibited Items
Use or possession of alcohol, tobacco products, drugs, harmful substances, weapons or any prohibited items within campus or during institute-related activities is not allowed.
Any violation may lead to strict disciplinary action as per institute rules and applicable law.
Grievance and Complaint Process
Students who face genuine issues should report them through proper institutional channels.
Concerns related to academics, administration, discipline, student safety, ragging, harassment or facilities may be submitted as per PIIT’s Grievance Redressal Policy.
Students should avoid spreading complaints through unofficial channels without first approaching the concerned authority.
Disciplinary Action
Violation of the Student Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary action depending on the nature and seriousness of the matter.
Action may include:
Verbal warning
Written warning
Counselling
Apology letter
Parent/guardian intimation
Restriction from activities
Suspension from classes or facilities
Recovery of damage cost
Cancellation of participation
Disciplinary record entry
Cancellation of admission in serious cases
Any other action as per institute rules
Role of Parents and Guardians
Parents and guardians are important partners in maintaining student discipline and academic progress.
PIIT may contact parents or guardians in cases related to attendance, behaviour, academic concern, fee issue, safety matter or disciplinary situation.
Student Responsibility Toward Institute Reputation
Students are expected to uphold the dignity and reputation of PIIT. Their behaviour inside campus, during events, industrial visits, online activities and public interactions should reflect discipline and responsibility.
Students should remember that they represent both themselves and the institution.

PIIT may update this Student Code of Conduct from time to time based on academic requirements, campus discipline needs, student support practices or regulatory directions.

Acceptance of Student Code of Conduct
By taking admission, attending classes, using campus facilities or participating in PIIT activities, students agree to follow this Student Code of Conduct and maintain discipline, respect and responsibility.
PIIT encourages students to maintain discipline, respect others and actively contribute to a positive learning environment.
